BBC Radio 2 has launched a nationwide hunt with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa to find an opera star of the future, the BBC Radio 2 Kiri Prize.

The winner will perform with Dame Kiri at BBC Proms In The Park in London's Hyde Park on Saturday 11 September 2010 and be given the opportunity to attend a three-week residential course at the Solti Te Kanawa Accademia in Italy.

From the original 630 entrants, Shuna is one of the 15 talented singers to reach the semi-finals of the competition. The semi-final stages will be broadcast on 'Friday Night is Music Night' on BBC Radio 2 at 8pm from 30 July to 27 August. Shuna will feature on the show broadcast on Friday 20 August 2010.

Following the semi-final heats, just five singers will then go through to the final to be broadcast on Radio 2 on Friday 3 September.
